This stainless steel men’s quartz Seiko, model number 7830-5120, has a distinctive rectangular case and bracelet.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in January 1979.  This information has been updated, since a very helpful customer pointed out he had a brochure from 1977 with this model in it, priced at 33,000 Yen

CONDITION

Seiko make thousands of each model usually, but we have not found many similar ones to this.  The white hands, unlumed, are a sharp contrast against the very dark grey sandwich dial – the hour markers are actually cut outs, revealing the dial underneath.  It is all very subtle but effective.  The bracelet is all stainless steel and has a friction clasp that requires no special tools to adjust.  The clasp is secure, but doesn’t appear to be a perfect match.  The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.   The case has a few small dinks, most noticeable at the bottom right corner.  We have fitted a new battery and rear case seal.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
