This Eterna-Matic 1000 has the cushion style case and an automatic movement inside the stainless steel case.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1968.
CONDITION
Eterna made some wonderful movements back in the day. This watch has their calibre 1489K, which is very nicely finished and running sweetly. The watch has had the signed crown replaced at one point for a non signed one, but that is easily fixed if it is important to you. This movement has an unusual method of quick setting the date – you pull the crown out one stage further for each day. This is working too and is shown in the video functioning. The dial is good, with just light spotting. The case may have been polished in the past, but there is still signs of wear since then. The case wears slightly larger than the dimensions suggest, thanks to the cushion case design. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. This is a nice, wearable Eterna-Matic 1000.
