This 1956 Tissot, in a chromed case and with textured dial, has a manual winding movement with sub seconds dial.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1956.
CONDITION
The textured dial is a nice survivor, as most of these are terminally damaged by cigarette smoke over the years. The movement winds via the crown – the crown is bent but solid and functional, and is housed in a chromed case that has lost some of the chrome plating, as shown in the photos. These photos are enlarged, so the video is probably a more realistic view of the pitting. Inside the case beats an in house Tissot 27-B1 15 jewel movement, which is clean and unlike the earlier Tissot 27 calibre also has Incabloc shock protection as standard. We have fitted a new acrylic crystal and leather strap to make this ready to wear. The size was typical for a man, but now would suit either sex.
Please see the HD video below for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any images, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
