1940 Tissot WW2 period Anti Magnetic men’s watch
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to 1940. Finding watches made during WW2 is quite difficult – many had hard lives, and sources metals was difficult.
CONDITION
The unpolished stainless steel case is all in very good shape, save for light scratches. The dial has numerous marks and dirt, but is original, as are the blued hands. The Tissot 27 hand wound movement is running nicely and keeping good time for something over 75 years old. The crown is a later replacement. The crystal is good, and the strap is a used item with lots of life left in it.
SIZE
33.1mm wide including the crown, 10.1mm thick. Takes a 16mm strap.
