HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The previous owner of this watch confirmed he got it in 2017, but we have no extra evidence to prove this. (but neither do we have any reason to doubt him). Helgray have been in business since 2013, and you can read their story here.
CONDITION
Microbrands have emerged over the past few years as one of the best ways to get a modern watch that is not something you will see on every High Street. The formula is usually a ‘stock’ movement, with their own designed cases and dials, and this is what Helgray did here. So the watch was designed in Canada, and they specified the extensive use of titanium, but also the details are nice. The crown is nicely machined with the Helgray logo, and the glass is sapphire crystal. Underneath the screw down caseback is a reliable but not special Ronda quartz movement, to which we will fit a brand new battery before sending this out. The bracelet has extra links, so this should fit the largest of wrists. The 120 click bezel has a nice feel to it, and although it is lumed it is not the brightest. The orange dial is the stand out design feature of this watch, and it really stands out against the matte grey case.
