HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The papers on this watch are not completed – it was not sold by an AD, so they wouldn’t be. The first appearance of model WAZ1120 was in the 2015/16 catalogue with the latest generation of the Formula 1 watches, and looking at the TAG Heuer website here they retailed at £2,250 but are not longer available. The blue dial was effectively replaced with the black dial variant (WAZ1121) of the same watch, and this blue dial version dropped from the price lists after 2017. This watch can not be earlier that 2015, but may be slightly newer.
CONDITION
Whilst we are more likely to have an original 1986 Formula 1 model, we could not pass up this watch. This is an opportunity for someone to get an unworn TAG Heuer at 50% discount. The bracelet is unsized, with all the links, and the stickers are still on the clasp. The stickers are also on the case back, and the one covering the sapphire crystal has only been removed for photography. There is just the lightest mark on the non crown side of the watch, pointed out in the video. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers including a blank warranty card, and our Certificate of Authenticity. We also have the outer box sleeve, with the same serial number on it, and even the outer brown transport cardboard box the customer normally wouldn’t see which shows the price of this watch was £2,100.
This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
