The distinctive Ebel 100 has a 40mm PVD black case, offset with red logo, hour markers and even the date wheel font is red.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

To celebrate the centenary of Ebel they launched the 100 line in 2011.  Red, Green and Blue ones came out in 2013.  Given that Ebel make quite small numbers of watches each year (around 20,000, less than Patek Philippe!) this watch is likely to have been made circa 2013.

CONDITION

Having never seen any of these models in the flesh before, we are pleasantly surprised.  We have had Ebel watches before, but they are normally quite conservative.  Not this one.  It was highlighted in GQ’s Watch of the Year article in 2014, when the mesh bracelet came out, which you can read here.  The new price quoted in the article was £1,900.

This watch has been worn, but not much.  This is evidenced by the lack of significant wear on the original strap, which also has the signed buckle too.  The case is stainless steel, with a PVD coating, as is the buckle, and neither are showing any sign of damage or wear.  Behind the exhibition caseback you will see the Ebel 120 movement, which is heavily based on the ETA 2892/2 that is so popular across the watch industry.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
