HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We have a book from 2012 with a very slightly different model (E9976M21 vs E9976M22) which was available. Very similar models are still available from Ebel here.
CONDITION
When compared to new prices this Ebel Brasilia is great value for money. You get a watch from a very well respected brand, with a solid stainless steel case and bracelet and a sapphire crystal in a design that is timeless. The movement is a set and forget quartz from ETA, but marked for Ebel so we know it is original to the watch. The dial is very clear, and that sapphire crystal has no scratches . The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and has screw in removeable links rather than pins and a hidden clasp. At this level it is small details that elevate one watch quality over another – things like the signed crown is recessed into the case, and the finish on the side of the case back is machined, even though you are not likely to ever see it. That’s the Swiss for you! This is an ideal alternative to an Omega Constellation or Cartier, while spending far less money. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
