This Festina chronograph was available in blue and black dials, but this golden yellow is harder to find.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
There are still the occasional one of these available new (circa £150) on various websites, albeit we couldn’t find one with the gold dial. Given that, and the lack of any other dating evidence, we are assuming this watch was made circa 2010.
CONDITION
The dial is the reason we bought this watch, as this colour is both hard to find and great to wear. This has the reverse panda subdials and date window at three. The dial at six can be used for constant seconds, or when you use the chronograph it switches to be the 1/10th second dial. The you have minutes recorder at 12 and hours at 3. The bezel is unidirectional, befitting the 100m water resistance rating, and has 60 clicks. The bracelet is stainless steel and does have wear marks, noticeably to the links on the far side of the wrist. Also, the end links are a bit rattley. The signed safety clasp is original. Festina are better known in Europe than in the UK, so it is nice to find a rare variation here. A new battery will be fitted prior to being sent, and a copy of the original instructions will also be included.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
