This limited edition Happy Sport Diamonds from Chopard has the larger, ceramic case. Model reference 28/8507.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We don’t have the paperwork or box for this watch, but we have found one with a similar limited edition number that had papers showing it was sold in 2010, so we presume this was sold around the same year.
CONDITION
The Happy Sport range was launched in 1993, building on the success of the Happy Diamonds range with bigger cases to suit the fashion of the time. When this was launched at 38mm this was quite a large ladies watch, and now most examples are sold as either men’s or unisex. The giveaway is the original Chopard rubber strap, which will only fit smaller wrists. We can swap this for a longer strap if preferred, ensuring we include the original strap in the package for later use if needed. We would also swap the original Chopard buckle to the new strap. The case is a ceramic material with a steel fixed bezel and clip on case back, covering the set and forget quartz movement. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The dial is excellent, and the sapphire crystal scratch and chip free. Of course the quality diamonds that are floating between the two glasses are the key design of the Happy Diamonds and Happy Sport ranges. As they slide they spin, bouncing the light further. Chopard watches are never cheap – the closest new watch in the Happy Sport range is £4,980 – but that guarantees exclusivity.
