HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We do not have the paperwork for this watch, so we have to use other methods. This fourth generation Formula one model ran from 2007 to 2011, so we have picked a mid point year.
CONDITION
Sometimes you buy watches because they match your normal collection. But other times you want something that you can grab and go out with, that stands out without being flashy and is also interesting, and this Formula 1 watch does all of that. The case is all stainless steel, and has the branding on the non crown side. The bracelet is solid links, and has the flip lock extension for going over your wetsuit – this divers watch was designed for 200m depths. Unlike earlier Formula 1 model TAG Heuer fitted this watch with sapphire crystal glass. Overall the condition is excellent, with only very small marks. The dial is the main USP here though, and what we try to show in the video is how the hour markers are all tapered, which bounces light around nicely and isn’t easy to show in static photographs. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
