HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We have some warranty and instructions papers that came with this watch, but they have no date on it other than a print date of 2002, and it is not specifically for the Reveil model so we are going to dismiss them as dating evidence. We have found two similar models for sale, one from 2008 and one form 2009 according to their correct paperwork, so we are saying circa 2008 is a likely production date.
CONDITION
With a hint of Cartier looks, but a size more like a TAG Heuer Monaco this Maurice Lacroix is a niche watch that you won’t see often. Inside the stainless steel case is a Swiss quartz movement, whose key feature is the Reveil or alarm. First you syncronise the dial at 9 with the hands – this sets the reference time and only needs to be done if the time is reset. Then you set the alarm simply by using the pusher at 4. The same pusher also switches the alarm on or off, and the alarm can be set for a maximum of 12 hours time. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner and set the watch up for their timezone, but the instructions can be found here too. The case does have surface scratches from being worn, but no dings or dents. The sapphire crystal is unmarked. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The original butterfly clasp is fitted to the new strap.
