HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Franck Muller watches are not easy to date, but the 6850 models feature in the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Wristwatch annual’s and no others so we have picked a mid point year as a likely date of production. The Casablanca has been a mainstay of the Franck Muller range for many years.
CONDITION
A lot of Casablanca models have the slimmer 31mm case, which like this larger case wear very well. But some people do find them too small, and that is where this 6850 model is the answer. The curved case, so synonymous with Franck Muller watches, fits comfortable and ergonomically around the wrist. Another thing Franck Muller do well is the lume, which is quite exceptional. The sapphire crystal is unmarked, and the unpolished case only has light surface scratches from being worn. The blued hands are straight, and the dial is splendid. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath and has been shortened in the past, but this model can be worn on a leather strap too. The automatic movement is signed Franck Muller and is working well, and despite being behind a solid case back it is still finished to a high standard. That includes having a platinum tip to the rotor, just because they can!
