HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
These Heritage watches were launched in 2003 to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Tissot. These dates can be seen on the automatic rotor through the exhibition case back too.
CONDITION
If you are celebrating how well your watch company has done over one and a half centuries, you don’t do it by halves. So you specify an automatic movement which was adjusted in five positions to meet the chronometre requirements needed. The movement has 30 jewels and a quick set date too. The stainless steel case has nice turned lugs, and is larger than the 1950’s model this Heritage is based on (the original wouldn’t have had the date, not exhibition case back, nor automatic either). One thing they did stick with was using plexiglass instead of sapphire for the crystal. The dial has nice applied dot hour markers, and no lume, and we like the historic Tissot logo being used. The leather strap is signed Tissot and appears to be the original, and the deployant clasp is also fitted.
