The Atollo was a short lived divers watch, and is an excellent budget choice diver style watch. Also has a NEW unworn bracelet.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Tissot stopped having serial numbers in 1983, and this watch is much later. We have found information on this model from 2001, 2002 and 2003 but by 2004 it seems to have been dropped, so we have picked the middle year as a likely date of production.
CONDITION
If you have not heard of the Atollo name then do not worry – we hadn’t either. Our research seems to show that the distinctive oversized numbers divided opinions, and the style was adapted into the motorcycle ranges from Tissot, albeit in a diluted manner. This Swiss watch has an ETA movement, sapphire crystal, stainless steel case and is all original. The rubber strap is original and has been cleaned in warm soapy water, and it feels secure, but wouldn’t be covered by our warranty. We have enquired about getting a new strap for the watch, which if we can we will but the price will go up to reflect this. The dial is excellent, but while there is a lot of lume it is not the brightest. The unidirectional diver bezel is stiff but does turn. The sapphire crystal is perfect. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
UPDATE – We have ordered a brand new steel bracelet from Tissot and will include that and the rubber strap in the video. That stops any long term issue about the strap being hard to source (Tissot no longer supply the rubber strap replacements).
