HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Montblanc only started making watches in 1997, and we have found this Meisterstuck Sport model in our annuals in the years 2000-2004, so we have picked a mid point year.
CONDITION
Montblanc are are course better known for making very fine quality pens, but for twenty five years they have been building their watchmaking division and are now highly respected in this field too. Some of the more complicated watches, such as the annual calendar, tourbillon or Nicolas Rieussec models can fetch tens of thousands of pounds, but this Meisterstuck model is simpler and therefore more affordable. The standard range were a little smaller and didn’t have the unidirectional divers bezel or the bracelet that this Sport model has. The bezel has been further cleaned since the photos and before the video was shot. It all feels very solid and well screwed together, better than many watches at this price point for sure. Inside the case is a solid ETA jewelled movement, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
