HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The paperwork is not completed, but we currently have a gold plated version that comes with papers dated to 1999, which suits all the other design and technical clues too.
CONDITION
When a watch company find a new way to do something, it is copied by other manufacturers. Whether Rotary looked to Ebel or Longines for their Sportwave or Sportwing models respectively, it is clear for the bracelet that the designer at Rotary was clearly influenced by these models. This is not a criticism, because these bracelets are very comfortable. The dial is something different to what you normally see though – each hour section on the dial has a slightly different decoration, and this is done in 3D so looks different in different lights.
The stainless steel case and bracelet is good, but there are marks on the bottom left lug. The Miyota movement is all working well, and will have a new battery fitted before it is sent out. The dial, glass and hands are good. The screw down case back does have a few light scratches. The box is good, and we have a good sized bracelet – vital on a watch with integrated bracelet like this.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, uncompleted papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
