The Dunhill Centenary Hunter watch collection was a short lived model, but designed to appeal to the discreet but wealthy client that Dunhill attracts.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

This model was introduced at SIHH in 1998, and appeared in the brochures we have for 1999.  It doesn’t appear again in 2001, so this watch is likely to have been made circa 1999.

CONDITION

This watch doesn’t shout out at you at all.  The cushion style case is reminiscent of earlier styles, yet the watch houses a split second quartz chronograph ETA movement with 23 jewels.  The fit and finish is excellent, and while this is subjective it does feel like quality – the price at the time of $1,330 would mean this watch was competing against Tag Heuer and Longines brands.  The watch comes in a Dunhill branded velvet bag and cushion, and this might be from the time of sale or after a service – the back does have a tool mark under the caseback sticker, and the Dunhill strap is nearly new, so this might indicate it was sent away for service.  The buckle is a Cartier style deployant.

This watch will be supplied with the velvet bag shown in the video and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any images, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
