With a Giallo Fly yellow dial, this Girard-Perregaux pour Ferrari chronograph is a good combination of quality and style.   Model reference 8020.

Girard-Perregaux started working with Ferrari in 1995, and even made very complex limited editions for the F50 Supercar customers.  The yellow models with black subdial rings was launched in 1996 with a price of £3,195, and the serial number on this watch would suggest that is was made circa 1997.  For comparison, in 1996 a new Heuer Carrera re issue would cost you £1,800.

Both Girard-Perregaux and Ferrari are not exactly affordable brands – a new Girard-Perregaux chronograph starts at over £13,000, and a new Ferrari is far more than that!  But often brands with co-operate to mutually expand each parties customer base.  Currently Ferrari work with Richard Mille, whose watches can cost more than the cars.  But in the late 1990’s they worked with Girard-Perregaux, and the Pour Ferrari range was a huge success.  Today they work with Aston Martin.

This watch has a 57 jewel automatic chronograph calibre 2280 movement with calendar.  The dial is clean, and the hand glow brightly (so may have been changed at service – we don’t have any evidence of that but normally a watch from this age would not glow well.)  The case is unpolished, so will show some marks, but is original.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  Originally some of these watches came with yellow straps, but that does look a little too much for most people.  we have fitted a new leather Rally style strap, but this could be swapped for a different style or colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
