An interesting Zodiac Swiss Formula, which was clearly a homage to the TAG Heuer Formula 1 with a story behind it. Model reference 71383.64.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Whilst Zodiac have been making watches since 1882, the Swiss Formula range was launched in Basel in 1994. Legend has it that a senior executive left TAG Heuer acrimoniously and bought Zodiac, and proceeded to make watches that bore striking resemblances to those of his former employer!
CONDITION
The specification on this Zodiac swiss Formula is very close to the TAG Heuer. Similar size, fibre glass unidirectional bezel, 200M water resistance when new, screw down case back and crown, and it even uses the same ETA movement as the TAG, with quick set date. If anything the bracelet is a little better than the TAG though, and it also has the flip lock extension to allow you put the watch on over your wetsuit. All is in good working order, and cosmetically a few scratches on the glass is the only negative to report. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The original bracelet is quite short, but it has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, crown and clasp.
