This Sector Four Seasons is a watch with both day and month of the year, and hinged lugs, and this one is New Old Stock (NOS).
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We have not been able to find reference to this model anywhere, but given the styling, size and movement used we think this was made circa 1991.
CONDITION
Sector Watches were founded in 1973, a strange time to launch a watch company at a time where dozens of companies were closing during the quartz crisis. The company survived and thrived by making sports watches, and is still going today. This is a more dressy watch, befitting the fashions of the time, but is well put together. The Four Seasons aspect of the name is relating to the calendar functions. As well as obviously telling the time, the watch has a date window at 6 and an extra hand that points to the month of the year – which are then separated into the four seasons. Happily the date and month can be quick set via the crown. The movement used is a Swiss ETA quartz from the 955 series. The case is interesting too, with a coin edge design like Breguet use and hinged lugs that are a throwback to the 1930’s. Condition is absolutely like new, with the sticker still on the case back. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
