A classic dress watch from Maurice Lacroix, with a good movement inside. Model reference 92124.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The case back is inscribed for a 21st birthday present, but sadly it doesn’t mention the year Robert turned 21 (which would have been handy!). Looking at others available, the movement production dates and collective wisdom says these were all produced in the early nineties. If you have nay further information then please do contact us.
CONDITION
Checking on C24, which at time of writing have five 92124 references available, these all seem to be in Germany and had various dial colours and details. They are all well over £200 too, so we have this one priced very competitively. Ours doesn’t have roman numerals as the main markers, but they are their in the small details in the chapter ring. Our photos are not the best – the dial is just off white, which the wrist shot is the most representative. We need to fiddle with the camera settings! The gold plated case has teardrop lugs, which are just showing a very small amount of wear to the highest points. The movement is an ETA 955.412, widely used in good watches at this time from brands including TAG Heuer, Rotary, Zenith and Gucci. These 7 jewel movements are pretty good and have quick set date, on this watch set at 6. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. Original Maurice Lacroix straps, with the gold plated M emblem are available on eBay, but at £90+ we just fitted a regular strap. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
