This Edox Delfin has a nice blue dial, the original bracelet and is inexpensive for a divers watch. Model reference 70078.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
This has not been an easy watch to research, but looking at the styling and production dates of the original movement we think this watch was made circa 1990.
CONDITION
The Delfin range was launched in 1961, with a new design of sealing the crown that is still in use today. Edox used this in their Hydro-Sub too a few years later. You can read more on their long and quite illustrious history here on the Edox website.
This Delfin had an ETA 955.114 7 jewel quartz movement, but it had a fault so we have had a new ETA 955.112 – the 955.114 now being obsolete. This like for like movement swap means the watch should happily work for many years to come, and a new long life battery has also been fitted of course. The original dust cover is still present too. The dark blue dial has a couple of marks when looking closely, but it is still very presentable. The fixed bezel still has all the paint inlays, and the bracelet is the original one despite not being signed Edox. Neither the case nor the bracelet have been polished, so both show signs of wear. The bracelet is exceptionally long, and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
