This all original Certina DS Sapphire has a deep blue dial and (obviously) a sapphire crystal. Model reference 115.7030.44
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Certina stopped using serial numbers to aid dating watches long before they made this DS Sapphire, but based on the styling and movement production dates we think this watch dates from circa 1990.
CONDITION
You can only be original once, and this watch is. Apart from a fresh battery, this watch retains the original signed bracelet, sprung clasp and signed crown it came with when new. The sapphire crystal has done a good job of keeping the midnight blue dial clean, and the fact that this watch was designed to be 100m water resistant yet is still slim and comfortable on the wrist would embarrass many modern divers watches. Certina have a nice design quirk of only gold plating the top three links on a bracelet, and the reasoning is the lower links are the ones that would show the wear and tear more than the top links. Smart move. There is a dink at 12 on the bi metal bezel, and the bracelet may have been shortened at some point in the past, bot otherwise this is an honest example of a quality Swiss watch.
