A fully specified divers watch, this Technos Super Diver makes for an interesting alternative to more mainstream brands. Model reference 12780.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
There is no way that we know of to accurately date a Technos, unless it is engraved or has the original papers (or we get lucky and find an advert or launch at Basel watch fair). But we do know that Tissot used this identical movement starting in 1988, and TAG Heuer also used the same movement around the same time in their divers watches. It is likely therefore that Technos also bought the movement in at a similar time.
CONDITION
With a gilt handset and gold plated crown, as well as an easy to grip specially designed divers bezel, this Technos Super Diver doesn’t fall down the generic divers watch design like some do. You could have specified the watch with a gold plated bezel too, like this one, if you wanted a little more bling. This was no desk diver either – it was rated to 200M water resistance, and has a screw down crown, unidirectional bezel and a wet suit extention built into the bracelet. Inside is an ETA 955.114 7 jewel original movement, signed for Technos, with quick set date. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The tritium lume does have some dirt on it, but the dial is original. The bracelet has been shortened in the past, and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and clasp.
