This Ladies Omega Constellation is the smaller model, and rarer Omega’s patented Central Lugs. Model reference 595.1080
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number printed on the inside of the case back we can date this watch to being made in circa 1987. The 50 million serial numbers dated between 1986 and 1988, and this is almost exactly half way between.
In 1982 Omega launched the Manhattan Constellation, to which this watch owes much of its DNA. Those earlier watches had larger sapphire glass fronts, which were held in by four screw in claws (apparently that design was inspired by a bathroom mirror!). This later model has fixed claws and the larger, gold bezel and it is this look that still is recognisable in any Omega boutique in the World. There is a similar model to ours on Omega’s website here, albeit in solid 18k gold. Our watch is steel, with a solid gold bezel which has retained the paint in the roman numerals very well. This ladies Omega Constellation is powered by a quartz movement, the Omega 1455. This started life at an ETA movement, which makes future servicing and parts availability better. It is all working perfectly. The dial, hands and sapphire crystal are all great. The leather strap is signed Omega, and does have some wear. We could swap this for a new OEM strap if preferred. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
