With a blue patterned dial, this Longines is both attractive and substantially cheaper than some other Ellipse models from other brands. Model reference 4301.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number that is normally attached to the movement is missing – you can see where it was glued on, but it has fell off and been lost over the years, which isn’t unusual. But the movement tells us it is post 1982, when ETA and ESA merged, and before circa 1986 when the ESA name was dropped for good.
CONDITION
The combination of that dial colour and design, set against the 20 micron gold plated case and hour markers, is very appealing. The crown has a cabochon polished stone set in it, which is very 1980’s and likely original. The overall condition is very good, with no chips or significant scratches on the glass either. The movement is the ESA 950.001, a quartz unit that was also used by Zenith, Chopard and other high quality brands. It is all working as it should, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The original signed buckle has been transferred to the new strap.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
