HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Titoni brand developed from Felca, and was first launched as Titoni in 1952. The company is still making watches, and you can read more about their history here. While we can not be absolutely certain about the year this was made, we know the movement was first in production during 1982. The watch may be newer than 1982, but it can not be older.
CONDITION
The most famous Day Date watch is arguably the Rolex Day Date, but they also made a larger watch under their Tudor brand. Why mention this? both the Tudor Day Date (ref. 9451/0 from 1986-) and this Cosmo King use the same ETA 2834-2 automatic movement for a start. Unlike the Rolex, this Cosmo King also has quick set day and date, which is a great plus if you have more than one watch and don’t want to spend too long setting them up. The dial on this watch isn’t the best – the price reflects this – as it does have some staining. The bezel is chrome plated too, which is good for catching the light but you can also see a little wear through the plating, mainly between 8 and 9. You wouldn’t get that on the Tudor, but you will pay ten times the price for the Tudor with the same movement, so it is a compromise many are willing to make. The jubilee style bracelet has solid and not folding links, is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and clasp.
