Rolex President looks, and the same movement as in the Tudor Day Date, but with the advantage of Sandoz pricing.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The movement used in this watch was first launched in 1982. With lack of further information we can say this watch can not be made before 1982, but may be newer.
CONDITION
Where a Tudor Day Date will cost thousands, this Sandoz has the same movement as the Tudor but costs hundreds. The Tudor uses a different shock protection system, but is otherwise the same ETA 2834-2 automatic movement you can see via the exhibition case back you can see on the watch. The movement has 25 jewel, and double quick set for both day and date (although never try to quick set the calendar if the watch is showing between 9pm and 3am – good practice on all calendar watches.) The day wheel is in English, with black text every day except for Sunday, and everything is working fine. The stainless steel case is good, as are the dial and hands. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The Jubilee style bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath and has a S stamped on the clasp – presumably for Sandoz. The watch is signed on the dial, movement, crown and clasp.
