With an interesting dial and an automatic movement shared by companies like Tudor, this Enicar Day Date is a really nice example.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

We can not date this watch with 100% accuracy, but the movement used in this was launched in 1982 and a flurry of new models from different makers were quick to start using it – most notably Tudor, which meant the Tudor Oyster Day-Date had quick set day and date and the big sister Rolex had to wait until the 1990’s for that upgrade!

CONDITION

At the time that ETA launched the calibre 2834-2, the majority of customers were buying quartz powered watches.  Producing a new automatic movement, which would be more expensive to make and less convenient and accurate for the consumer, shouldn’t have made sense.  But the watch manufacturers loved it and started using it immediately.  And it is clear that Enicar had one particular model in mind when it came to the style – the Rolex Day-Date.  Obviously the Day Date calendar on both watches is in the same place, but Enicar also mirrored the dimensions and bracelet too.  The fluted bezel is slightly different, but the cyclops is the the same.  However the dial on this one is quite interesting and different to anything Rolex produced.  You can see the automatic movement via the exhibition case back – again, quite unusual for the time, and this Enicar has a signed clasp and crown too.  The 25 jewel movement is working well, and even hacks too.  The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required.  The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.  The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, and clasp.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
