HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
It is a difficult watch to date accurately without paying Longines for them to search their records, but form the information we can gather on the movement we think this was made circa 1980.
CONDITION
The watch is difficult to fault. The dial is unusual, in having the winged hourglass Longines logo as a pattern across the entire dial. The movement is Longines 960.2, a two hand quartz unit with metal plates decorated with Côtes de Genève stripes. That little touch is something that was lost during the eighties on quartz watches, as prices had to be reduced to compete with competition from the Far East. Similarly the case on this watch is gold plated to 20 microns, where 10 microns became the norm later. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is almost like new, and is likely the one fitted from new. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, buckle and strap.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity and cleaning cloth.
