With a manual wind movement, and a 31mm case, this Universal Geneve dress watch would suit anyone with a smaller wrist.  Model reference 842205.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The serial number on the case back shows this was made after 1968, but the movement used in this watch was not introduced until 1975.  This watch can not be older than that, but may be newer.

CONDITION

Universal Geneve are a highly respected brand, with a history including many models such as the Tri-Compax or Polerouter that sell for thousands.  No doubt that history will be enhanced with the relaunch of the brand, which has recently been acquired by Breitling.  We have a dress watch here, meeting all the rules of being slim, simple and well put together.  The movement inside the stainless steel case is Universal Geneve’s caliber 2-42, which is manually wound via the signed crown.  The hands have a black painted stripe down the centre, which stops the silver hands being lost against the silver dial.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.  The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and crown.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
