HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Roamer is not the most documented brand, but we have found and advert from 1973 for the rather bulky Mk III Rockshell, so we have just gone a little later than that. This is also consistent with production dates for the movement used in this watch.
CONDITION
In the Seventies, all brands wanted a sports steel watch with an integrated bracelet – You had the AP Royal Oak, Patek Nautilus, IWC Ingenieur and even the Rolex Oysterquartz. So it was no surprise when other brands with lower price points joined in, and this is when the Rockshell MkVI comes in. The movement they use is branded Roamer caliber 482, but is actually an ETA 2630 and has a day wheel in English and quick set date. This is quite an original one, with the correct crown and bracelet clasp. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The case has a few light marks, and the also has some patina on the dial but it still looks good.
