HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the production dates of the movement we estimate this watch was made circa 1975
CONDITION
This watch is very individual. The case is shaped like a big plus sign, the chapter ring in red and then the dial in purple. It will not be to everyone’s taste, but we always have plenty of conservative watches and it is always nice to see something different. The case is chrome plated with a stainless steel screw down case back. The chrome is thin on the edges, and the purple dial has a unique patina where the centre is lighter than the outer edges. The Oris 715 movement is quite a simple item, with manual winding, 7 jewel and semi quick set date which is all working well. The acrylic glass is new. The plastic strap is new, and was chosen to be different like the rest of the watch. This can be swapped for a leather strap if preferred. Since taking the photos and video we have realigned the chapter ring. It is worth being cautious with older Oris watches, as they have often been frankened or outright faked and some online market places are flooded with these. This is a genuine watch.
