A genuine Swiss made Mickey Mouse watch, made by Trice, complete with the original white plastic branded box.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The seller of this watch told us that she was given it in November 1975, wore it a couple of times and put it in the drawer where it has remained ever since.  We have no reason to doubt her, and the supporting evidence of when Trice were registered (1970) and the Baumgartner 866 movement production dates back her up.  Interestingly, one of the first examples we found is stocked by the British Museum , and has been in their collection since 1987.

CONDITION

The watch is practically perfect.  The chromed case will show the lightest of scratches, but the glass is clean and this has needed no cosmetic attention at all from us.  The leather band is the original – it definitely has some age and the rear is crazed, but the watch could be worn on a normal leather strap (or a bracelet, as shown in the British Museum example) very easily.  The plastic watch box has broken hinges, and has been repaired with tape, but it is still a nice thing to have with the watch.  The hands still have lume plots on the tip of Mickey’s fingers.
