This Sicura Chrono Graphe has sub seconds, a 1 minute stop watch and a compressor style rotating inner bezel.  On a Sicura bracelet.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

This watch has an EB 8371-67 movement that was first introduced in 1967.  However we have consulted with a leading Sicura collector (instagram Woolley7 for photos of his excellent collection) and he has said that this model is firmly mid seventies.  We have since found this exact model for sale in a 1974 catalogue.  We have seen a copy of the 1975 Catalogue, and this features models with the cheaper EB8800 movement (note the offset sub seconds hand in the picture we have shared), so we have decided that this is circa 1974.

CONDITION

This large watch certainly has a lot going on, and happily all functions are working as they should including the inner bezel, which we have seen other examples that have seized.  Condition wise the bezel has a couple of small marks, and the pushers has had some chrome plating wear.  But the dial is good, and the large case only has a few marks.  The chronograph starts and stops on the bottom pushers, and snaps back to 12 perfectly using the top pusher.  The movement and dial does has a little movement when the crown is pulled out to set the time, but it doesn’t seem to have any detrimental effect.  The bracelet is marked Sicura on the clasp, but may not be the original one fitted as we can not find other examples fitted with the same bracelet.

Please see the HD video below for more detail.

Footnote:  These watches are often called Sicura Breitling, but this is stretching a truth.  Sicura did buy the Breitling brand, but later than this watch was made.  You can read more here and here.  Both blogs feature the same model watch as we have here.
