Great piece of social history from the USSR. Raketa (Russian for Rocket) made watches for the soviet military.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We can date this to circa 1974 judging from what the seller told us and the limited additional information available. It could be a few years either side of ’74.
CONDITION
Original but worn. By pressing the button on the crown the front glass pivots open to allow a person to read the time using just the fingertips. This is also why the hands are designed for strength and there is no second hand. The dial does show marks of being touched (as it was designed to be used), and the oils from peoples fingers have made the dial fade slightly unevenly.
SIZE
38.0mm wide including the crown, 10.4mm thick. Takes an 18mm strap.
