This Eterna quartz is fitted with the first ETA/ESA quartz movement, the 9180, and with a great blue dial.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the production date of the movement we can date this watch to being made circa 1973.
CONDITION
The ESA 9180 was used by many high end Swiss brands as they tried to combat the quartz revolution in the early 1970’s. Eterna, along with Certina and Zenith among other chose the 7 jewel movement with quick set date. The case is solid stainless steel and very chunky, with just a few small dings. The leather strap is new. The dial is the star of the show though. The linen pattern is very clean, and all the lume pips are in place. The lumed hands provide a clear contrast against the dial, making this easy to read. The crown is signed with the five ball bearing logo of Eterna.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
