This Enicar Chronograph men’s watch features a reverse panda dial and a high end Valjoux 72 movement inside.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

With difficulty!  The Sherpa and Sherpajet models that fetch £3,000+ usually have round cases, and this watch has a later style of case – completely correct for the model, but we haven’t been able to identify much more history as yet.  If you know more please do contact us.  The movement ceased production in 1974 so we are pitching this watch at the end of the era.

CONDITION

The watch has been worn, but with care and we doubt it was worn everyday.  The case back markings and engravings are not deep, but not worn away either.  They clearly read the model number 072-01-02 still.  If you are unfamiliar with the Valjoux 72, you could read this informative article, or you could know that for many years Rolex used this movement in their Daytona model.  The movement is running perfectly, with all functions working as they should.

The dial is the reverse panda, and completely original.  On close inspection there is some marks to the tachymeter scale, but they do not detract from the overall appearance.  The sunken subdials and hands have mellowed to a nice even cream patina.  The orange second and minute hands on the chronograph are exactly as they should be.  The crown is signed, the acrylic crystal clear and the leather strap is new.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
