This Delbana is a vintage Swiss divers watch with quality specification that is still affordable to a lot of people – that is a rare combination currently.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The movement in this watch was made between 1969 and 1976, so we have picked a mid point.  Delbana were established in 1948.

CONDITION

This is a good looking divers watch from a brand that most people don’t know about.  But the ingredients that make the watch could easily be found on many more established, and expensive, timepieces.  The case is stainless steel, and the movement is by ETA.  The signed crown screws down to improve water resistance, as does the case back.  The case back also states SKIN DIVER, which is a very early use of this term, and still has the residue of the original case back protection on it.  That could be cleaned off, but it does show the watch has not been used too much and we would encourage people to keep it as part of the history of the watch.  The bezel moves bidirectionally and doesn’t click.  The dial has an egg timer pattern on it that catches the light nicely, and is clean and original.  The hands and hour markers have tritium lume.  The 25 jewel automatic ETA 2879 movement was the first to have quick set day and date, and the date wheel is in French only.  The rubber strap is new, and the acrylic crystal has been polished.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
