Men’s 21j manual wristwatch

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

We can date this to circa 1972 by using a combination of the movements first production date (1968) and the first service mark inside the case (1974).  It has to date to within these dates.

CONDITION

As the Quartz era began, Accurist like many others thought it would pass and were fitting 21 jewel manual movements to watches still – this is one of the reasons that the industry went through the ‘quartz crisis’ in the seventies.  The unusual but comfortable shaped case is in good condition, with small marks near 11.  The dial is difficult to fault, while the crystal and strap just have the lightest of marks.  An inexpensive and classy watch
