With a Borazon scratch proof case and interesting dial, this Technos Marquis-G automatic watch is the second example we have been able to offer.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
There is little information about this model we could find online or in our books, but the movement used in this watch was introduced in 1971 so the watch can not be older than that. This also fits with the similar scratch proof watches from Rado and IWC were selling at the same time.
CONDITION
Borozon is a very hard material, most used in high end engineering but this Technos Marquis-G has used it for the case. This is similar in looks and feel to Tungsten, and likely just as difficult to work with, but has amazing scratch resistant qualities. This is demonstrated clearly in this example, and we suspect the flat, scratch free glass is likely sapphire. The part of the watch that hold the movement and lugs is stainless steel, so that helps reduce the risks that a very hard material might be more brittle. The movement is a reasonably high end ETA calibre 2824, a 25 jewel automatic running at 28,800 bph with quick set date and hacking. It is running well too. The dial is possibly made from stone – it has unusual, non linear swirl patterns that look natural. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, crown and movement.
