A circa 1971 Pierre Cardin Espace with JLC manual wind movement. Futuristic design that is over 40 years old.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
In 1971 Pierre Cardin launched a range of unconventional watches called the Espace (French for Space). They were only available for 2 years.
CONDITION
First, let’s talk about the style. Surprisingly comfortable, this is a statement watch and you are unlikely to see another. Apposed to the radical styling, the movement was supplied by Jaeger, France’s foremost watch company, so Pierre Cardin were not cutting corners on the budget.
The unpolished case is all in decent condition. There are a few dinks on the case, which is unavoidable with this shape case. The dial is perfect, the original crown is still present and we have shown a few different straps to compliment the watch – no tools are needed to change the NATO/Zulu type straps this watch uses.
SIZE
37.0mm wide including the recessed crown by 40.0 tall, 12.8mm thick. Takes an 20mm strap.
Included with this watch is a 2 month guarantee and free delivery to UK addresses. If you live outside the UK we can still deliver to most countries. Please see our Worldwide Shipping information, or Contact Us. Payment can be made by most credit or debit cards, bank transfer or PayPal.
