HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Very little information on older Edox models is available, but on their website they do list some of their historic models. One, the Bluebird, was launched in 1969 with a very similar style case to this watch, The movement used in this watch was used in the early 1970’s, so we have opted for saying this watch was likely made circa 1971.
CONDITION
Edox don’t have as many collectors as other brands, but for those that do collect these they will like this watch. The cushion cased watch wears slightly larger than the measurements suggest. The movement is a the AS1916, with day and date and the date can be quick set by pushing the signed crown inwards. The bracelet is is good condition and has been cleaned in out ultrasonic bath, and retains the signed clasp. The dial is excellent, with red highlights on the hands to match. The movement still has the anti magnetic cover that sits neatly under the screw down case back. You could wear this watch on a leather strap, but the triple gold look is bold and looks sharp. This is a great value Swiss automatic watch that you will not find everyday.
