Corum have made some quite wild models over the years, but this one is the definition of stylish and subtle. Model reference 89102.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
While we can not date this with serial numbers or normal methods, we know the movement used in this watch was launched in 1971 – this watch can not be earlier than that.
CONDITION
Corum are not usually a conservative brand. We have had the Bubble models and even one with a feather for a dial, but they are well made and make an interesting alternative to the more mainstream brands. This one however eschews the bold designs, and stick to simplicity. You get two hands and a date window at 6, which can be quick set via the signed crown. Inside the slim, steel case is a Corum branded ETA 2824 automatic movement, meaning servicing and and future repairs should be easy if and when required. The watch is very tight to wind currently, which might want fixing if you prefer to hand wind your automatic movement. The dial is fantastic – a light texture in the pattern of fine linen, and it is clean too. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and crown.
Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
