Supplied and co signed by Prestons Timer Division, this decimal stop watch from Omega would likely be used for time and motion studies.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

We can put this at circa 1970, judging by the materials and styling used.  English referee Jack Taylor used an Omega stop watch in the 1974 World Cup Final, which has a similar black finish.

CONDITION

The movement is badge Omega 8300, but the maltese cross under the balance shows it was made for Omega by Lemania, as were most of Omega’s stopwatches.  The decimal dial shows 1/100ths of a minute, which is mainly used for improving the speed of manufacturing processes.  You start the stop watch by sliding the button at 90, and can instantly reset by pushing the crown inwards.  To pause the stop watch slide the button at 90, as shown in the video.  The case is chromed and has an engraving on the back, as well as light scratches there too, but that is the only marks visible.

This watch will be supplied with our basic presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
