A superb example of the Geoscope world time watch from Edox, still on the original bracelet. Model reference 200170
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
These watches were launched in 1970, and we have chosen this year as a possible year of production. It can not be earlier, but it could be a bit later.
CONDITION
You know when a a watch is important when they launched a recreation of the model years later. That is exactly what Edox did, and the limited edition of 300 reissue Geoscope was launched in 2014. It is quite different – larger, with a date sub dial, but that watch paid homage to this version.
This example is in such good condition that we at first suspected it was the modern version, but it is not. Everything is correct, such as the unique hands and cross hatched crowns. The glass is set into a screw in bezel, and this is what holds the watch movement in place in the monobloc case – you have to remove the ETA 2774 automatic movement from the front. Edox claim that this was the world’s first World Time watch ever in production. The case back has a strong stamped emblem in the centre and lighter engraving on the outside, which often rubs off, is still crisp. The long bracelet is in very good condition and retains the original clasp. This must be the best available.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
