This Desotos Chronograph has a manual wind Valjoux 7730 movement inside, and is New Old Stock (NOS).

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Desotos were first registered in 1952, but we know this movement was made between 1966 and 1973 so we have picked a mid point between these years.

CONDITION

The watch is new old stock, so it is unworn and the condition reflects this.  You have a constant seconds at the subdial at three, and the chrongraph seconds are the red centre hand and the 45 minute chronograph counter is the red hand on the 3 o’clock subdial.  The Valjoux 7730 was widely used by Heuer, Breitling and many others, so the fact that Desotos is a brand you may never have heard of isn’t that important.  The case back is marked Oberon, and we haven’t been able to establish if Oberon and Desotos were related companies – it could be that the caseback has been swapped, and that might explain why this good looking watch was never sold.  The leather strap is new.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
