This Oris Super has an unusual gold/olive/brown fade dial and manual wind 17 jewel AS movement.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

We can date this to being made circa 1969 from the movement and the styling.  Oris used the name Super from 1963, but it the bold ORIS on the dial points to this being later.

CONDITION

The best way to describe this watch is original but with some patina and great value for money.  The 10 micron gold plated case shows various small scratches and dings, but not abuse.  Both hands have lost a small amount of paint.  The crown has been replaced and stands about 1mm proud of the case when push in, but is not uncomfortable.  The dial shows various different marks, but the fading of the dial does help to disguise this.  The 17 jewel movement is an AS 1951 which is good – earlier Oris watches had low grade pin pallet movements, but his is a fully jewelled swiss lever.  The movement is nice and clean, and keeps good time – a pleasure to wind up.  It also has semi quickset date.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
