An absolute classic, the Breitling Top Time is one of the most wearable vintage chronographs. Model reference 2007.1
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The case back on this watch has at some point been swapped for a slightly different model (2007-33), so we can not rely on the serial number on there. But the 2007.1 model with this movement was introduced in 1969.
CONDITION
A reverse panda dial is always a popular choice on any vintage chronograph. Vintage Breitling chrono’s are well collected too, so this Top Time is a winning combination. Having the stardust of Sean Connery wearing a Top Time in Thunderball always helps too (albeit a different model, modified to be a Geiger counter. That prop watch sold for £104,000 back in 2013). You do have to look at the condition of the cases on these, as it is easy to over polish and ruin the case, especially the corners. As you can see this watch is in very good shape, with not even the pushers showing wear. The Valjoux 7733 movement is correctly signed BREITLING WATCH LTD, and is all running and resetting perfectly. The dial has just light patina, and the correct hands are straight. All the tritium lume plots are in place. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
